Plantation Teak Pen Blanks
In an effort to preserve a natural resource, this Teak is plantation grown and harvested in and around Colombia to preserve the natural (Burmese) teak trees that are becoming endangered today.
Plantation Teak heartwood is a uniform golden brown without markings. Grain is usually straight to slightly wavy. Texture is coarse, uneven and oily to the touch, sometimes with a white glistening deposit.
We source Plantation Teak all the way from Cartagena, Colombia. The sapwood, although lighter in color, does not take away from the strength and durability of the Teak lumber; rather, it gives a bit of contrast.
People generally choose Teak for its strength, longevity and timeless character. The lumber is practically maintenance free, and it is naturally rot resistant, so you can use it outdoors. Most people, however, use it for high quality furniture and special cutting boards.
Our pen blanks measure 5" long x 0.75" thick x 0.75" wide, and they are surfaced on all four sides (S4S). They come in packs of 5 and multiples of 15.
