Claro Walnut Lumber

Claro Walnut is an American exotic tree, native to the upper Sacramento River basin. The lumber it produces is known for its deep rich colors, intense figure and is coveted by gun stock manufactures and master craftsman.

Claro walnut trees are no longer planted and are becoming increasingly fewer and fewer.  They are usually only harvested because of old age and changing land use.

Claro walnut trees are hard to obtain and hard to dry, but its beauty is unmatched.

We source Claro Walnut from the far western coast, approximately 2,000 miles away. For that reason alone - not to mention how slow-growing and rare this species is - we require a minimum purchase of 500BF. Still, we manage to sell this rare beauty at a mere fraction of what you would pay at a mill that carries one-of-a-kind hardwood species.

All our dimensional lumber is milled S3S, and the price listed below is the per-board-foot price.
